You can read more about her journey towards being an independent scholar in the essay, “Academia Didn’t Have a Place For Me, So I Made My Own Academy,” in Independent Scholars of the World, an anthology focusing on scholars who have left the academy. Danielle is an aspiring author, and she’s currently working on a proposal for a creative non-fiction memoir-esque book.
